The HDW-D1800 is ideal as part of an end-to-end HDCAM production chain. It also makes business sense even when post production and programme distribution remains at standard definition. HDV Compatibility The affordable HDV high definition format is becoming widely used in the professional arena for electronic news gathering (ENG) and b-roll applications. The HDW-D1800 makes it easy to incorporate these highly valuable tools by providing full cross compatible up conversion to HDCAM. Once upconverted, acquired HDV footage can be easily mixed with HDCAM footage during post-production. This advanced feature-set gives producers more options both in the studio and in the field on when gathering content. 1

Legacy Playback The HDW-D1800 adds legacy playback capability for both Digital Betacam and MPEG IMX. This can be very useful for large studios with large SD backlogs, allowing archival footage to be viewed and mastered in high definition.
