Every winter, Himachal Pradesh witnesses one of the most amazing spectacles seen anywhere in the country. Thousands of migratory birds escape the freezing winter of their home in central Asia and the Arctic descend to Pong Dam, which remains their home for the next five months.

Today the dam has become one of the most vibrant man made wetlands of India, home to over 395 bird species belonging to 54 different families.

This film was made in partnership with the Himachal Forest Department to show how The Pong is a unique example of man-animal relationship. An oasis of hope which is paving a path for harmonious co-existence and a sustainable future.
